Latest Unemployment Numbers Released Today – Actually the Rate Is Much Higher Than Most Americans Believe

The Government released the December 2010 unemployment rates today. The basic unemployment rate hit 9.4 percent. This rate is calculated by looking at the number 0f people who indicate they don’t have a job, but desire one, , have actively looked f0rwork in the last four weeks.
What is deceiving about these numbers, , what most honest economists tell us, is that these numbers are actually much higher.
Most American’s really don’t know what the government does to make the unemployment rate look better than it really is.
Using a measuring system called the “Alternative Measure 0f Lab0rUtilization”, part-time workers who can’t find full-time work , others who are classified as “marginally attached” to the job market, are factored out 0f the unemployment rate.
Additionally, those who were previously active in seeking employment, who simply gave up in the process, are also factored out 0f unemployment rate.
According to the Lab0rDepartment, when all 0f these people are factored in, the unemployment rate jumps to 16.7 percent.
Since the beginning 0f the recession in 2009, the unemployment rate has stayed between 16.4 percent , 17.5%.
As 0f January 7th, 2011, economists are saying that it will take over 5 years f0rany positive movement to be seen in the unemployment rate.
