Trade Protectionism is a growing force in the United States.

Americans want to bring manufacturing and outsourced services back to North- America.

We believe that the United States should negotiate “fair trade” agreements. Some critics of free-trade agreements want to renegotiate them to create a “more level playing field” with international standards for working conditions.

Clif asking: our employee voucher plan could be classified as somewhat of a reverse engineered temporary trade protectionist policy. By providing vouchers for long term unemployed workers so that they can give their services to an employer and the employer is reimbursed for their wages by the government, essentially the government would be subsidizing the cost of goods by providing low cost intellectual capital.

Until full demand for workers returns, businesses would have lower worker costs and could compete in the global market with lower cost goods as a result. This type of reverse engineered protectionism would be easy to defend however because of it's global nature as a full employment policy
