quote: What is a sign that you have a bad manager?
- John Miller • When your manager asks you to do something, then proceeds to tell you exactly how to do it, follows you around while you are doing it, and then tells you he would have not done it the way you did.
- Ashraf Ghazy • A bad manager is the one when mentioned you feel unrelaxed and bad-tempered.
- The first sign is that you do not like him!
- When you see a good one around. Good and bad are relative. Can't think of bad one if that's all you know, likewise can't really appreciate your good manager if a bad one doesn't come around your world. Does it mean that one shouldn't think of such things? I think, if you're the manager, thinking of "bettering" yourself over and over will cast a good sign, and if you're good and stop looking to improve, it could soon be seen as detrimental.
- The first sign of a bad manager is to be a bad person.
- The first sign of a bad manager is when you get to know that he is not skilled or trained at that level and when this sinks in slowly, you will realize that he is becoming insecured of you and when you are getting used to it, you will open up to a rude shock that he is drying out your opportunities by not involving you and when this becomes unbearable, you will start to realize that he is interested in driving personal agenda more than the organization's agenda. All these are signs of managers who are inexperienced, rely on borrowed jargon and are comfortabole to take decisions in isolation. You will have a completely different set of people who are very experienced and skilled, but will want to do everything their way. Two sets of managers really, but certain things are common - Personal Agenda, Promoting Self, Not so good Corporate Citizens and Insecurity.
- winters gao • Who has hard time when he needs to make decision, more importantly if he can't take risk and always back up, you can not possibly learn something quickly from him/her.
