U.K. Violence Soars as University Students Fight Over College Fees

LONDON -- Violence broke out Saturday as students in two UK cities scuffled with police during anti-college fee demonstrations.
A break-away group 0f protesters in Manchester, northwestern England, broke away from the main demonstration , broke through police lines to head f0rthe city center.
Sky News reported bottles, bricks , other missiles were thrown at police by "several hundred people wearing masks," as police battled to keep control.
, in London, a group 0f protesters again targeted the headquarters 0f the ruling Conservative government in the city center, Sky News reported.
Several protesters broke through police lines , made their way to the entrance 0f the Millbank Tower -- the scene 0f rioting on Nov. 10 when protesters smashed windows , vandalized the building.
During the November unrest, a fire extinguisher was hurled from the top 0f the 387 feet (118 meter) tower, narrowly missing police officers crowded below. Around 50 protesters were arrested , 41 police officers were hurt.
