Russia To Adopt Universal ID Card in 2012

As required by legislation passed this last summer, Russia will adopt a universal ID card starting next year. The Universal Electronic Card (UEC) is intended to eventually replace all local, regional, , national forms 0f ID, providing a central database through which Russians can access everything from medical insurance to ATMs.

A couple 0f things Russia's new universal electronic card will do:
Keep track 0f who has, , does not have compulsory medical insurance.
Keep track 0f who uses personal computers equipped with card reader , mobile devices.
Keep track 0f a person where ever they are in Russia.
All data on the citizen will be stored in the same place , now - in the databases 0f government departments , agencies.
