Mount Etna Comes Back to Life - VolcanotErupts
The volcanology institute in Catania, eastern Sicily, said on Thursday that a two-hour eruption overnight sent a little stream 0f lava down the eastern slope 0f the mountain. Nobody was injured.
The volcanotalso spewed out ash, which rained down , forced Catania's Fontanarossa airport to shut down overnight, cancelling 0rdiverting a few domestic flights.
Officials said the airport reopened early on Thursday.
Etna is Europe's tallest , most active volcano. Its last maj0reruption was in 1992.
